Jennifer Ham, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Deciding to start therapy can be a daunting task. But one way to ensure that it will be successful and enjoyable is by selecting a therapist that has experience in what you may be dealing with, and whose personality and beliefs can harmonize with your own.
My name is Jennifer Ham. I am a master’s level Licensed Professional Counselor and am a member of the American Counseling Association. I received my BA from the University of Wisconsin, and my MA from Eastern Michigan University. With 11+ years of experience in counseling, I have experience with many issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, relationship issues, infertility, child, and adolescent issues. What I am passionate about is recovering from grief and loss. I am a certified Grief Recovery Specialist. The therapy I offer is mostly Cognitive-Behavioral at its core, but I pull on a variety of theories and techniques as well.
I believe in offering a calm environment that is conducive to being authentic and getting in touch with what is at the core of what is bringing you in. My job is not to pass judgment on you, but to help you reach your goals. These goals will be collaboratively set by both you and me. While I am a Christian woman, I will not force my morals and life principals upon you. If you wish to include faith in our counseling sessions, that is completely up to you.
As I see it, life can get tough at times. It isn’t necessary to go it alone or work with an empty toolbox to try to “fix” what isn’t working. Let’s work together to develop some coping skills that will work for you so you can go on to live the kind of life you want.
