Susan Simpson, LMSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
The decision to seek therapy is a courageous step toward emotional well-being and improving mental health. I see my role as one to provide a safe and supportive space where we can explore and understand life’s challenges. Together we will identify your strengths and honor your experiences. We will take a look at what has served you well in the past and present; and empower you to make small changes that can lead to a more fulfilling life.
A good therapeutic relationship is at the foundation of any effective therapy experience. I strive to create a non-judgemental, supportive partnership with each person I see. Understanding that each situation is unique, my approach is client centered, begins where you are,and keeps your goals in mind.
I have experience with those struggling with depression and anxiety;relationship challenges in the family, work or school environment;self-esteem issues and PTSD and have specialized training to help you work through your trauma. I have specialized training and experience with those with chronic and life limiting disease. My approach is largely based on cognitive behavioral therapy as well as a psychodynamic approach. I feel privileged to come along with you as you attempt to navigate difficulties and life stresses to become your most functional and whole person. Feel free to contact me to see if we are a good fit.
